In Memoriam: Joy Michelle Ponder Bates
Dear CVCI Supporters,
As we reflect on the past few months since the loss of our beloved Joy Ponder Bates, I want to take a moment to honor her remarkable legacy. Joy, who dedicated nearly 13 years of her life to Children's Voice: CASA, Inc., was a shining example of compassion and commitment. Her work as our Advocacy Recruitment & Training Coordinator profoundly impacted the lives of countless children and families in Douglas County.
Joy was not just a colleague; she was a friend to many, known for her kindness, courage, and infectious humor. Each of us carries memories of her unwavering spirit, and I encourage everyone to take a moment to remember the joy she brought into our lives and the community.
To keep her memory alive, we invite you to contribute to a special project in her honor. We are accepting donations for quilts to support children experiencing foster care, a cause close to Joy’s heart. These quilts will serve as a warm reminder of the love and care she dedicated to every child.
You can contribute here. Thank you for your continued support and for being part of a community that embodies Joy's spirit.
Warm regards,
Dr. LaFayette E. Young, Jr.
